Well hello there son!
Wow, that’s going to take some getting used to! I’m a dad and your mom is a mom!
You sure didn’t waste any time in the old attention department, that’s for sure. You were born on May 6, 10:50am, at a healthy 5 pounds, 12 ounces, but almost immediately after you showed your face, you were whisked away by the good doctors and nurses to figure out why you couldn’t clear the fluid from your chest.
As it turns out you had some issues that required you to go into surgery just a couple of days after you were born. Your mother and I were just sick with worry as were your grandparents, aunts, uncles and all the other family and friends you’ll get to meet (again) someday.
Your surgery went well, but your road to recovery may be a little longer than your mom and I would have liked – but don’t worry, everyone is saying that you will pull through and have a happy, healthy and normal life!
I’m going to document certain things here, share pictures of you and basically expose you to the world. (Sorry in advance). It’s something that will help me as well as your mom to go through these stages of your childhood. Then, when you’re old enough, you can tell me to stop – and maybe I will.
I also had documented some of the times leading up to your birth, which can be found in The Pregnancy category.
Ok, well, I’m going to go now. I have to get to the hospital and see how you’re doing today and hopefully you will start eating a little better. You’ve been giving us just a bit of trouble in that department.
Just know that your mom and I love you dearly, more than we could have ever imagined loving someone, and that we are there for you – always.
Love,
Dad
