Yesterday was the ultrasound where we would look for your tiny heart beat with your mom being 6 weeks and 6 days along. The doctor, who we have the utmost confidence in, found where you should be and began looking for the pulsing that would be your heart.
Standing next to your mom and holding her hand, I watched the monitor for anything that looked like something. For one brief moment the doctor thought he saw a “flicker” which is what we all wanted to see, but then he couldn’t find it again. He assured us that things still look good, but was honest expressing his concern that you weren’t as big as he would hope you would be by this time. Both your mom and I saw that flicker, and that’s good enough for us to keep positive until next Tuesday when we’ll have another ultrasound. At that point, you should be far enough along to show us something. We’re pulling for you little one and we pray you’re still with us.
